The Serta iComfort Prodigy (Prodigy III) is an unquilted mattress that is soft for most sleepers. It is best suited for side sleepers and those that are of lighter builds. It comes with an 14'' profile, gel memory foam that will contour for sleepers. Most folks like this mattress, but some had issues with durability.

Excellent for about three years...
If you don't mind sleeping in a hole, this is the mattress for you. It's extremely comfortable for about 3 years, then there's just this hollowed out area that is miserable. Certainly not worth the price.
Totally impressed
I am very pleased with my prodigy mattress. It is not too soft, yet has the perfect amount of “give” to allow a restful nights sleep
Sleeping on a Cloud
I had a Serta innerspring mattress before purchasing this mattress, I have to admit, at first - I woke up sore and thought this mattress was not going to work - after several days it became apparent that I was sore because of two things 1- I was actually sleeping and not tossing and turning all night!! and 2- My body was aligned more naturally and I was in a more normal sleep position that I wasn't used to. Now I sleep great and have better quality of sleep, I wake up feeling ready to face the day and with the cooling gel I don't get as hot at night. I am now getting new icomfort mattresses for all the rooms in my house so my whole family will have a good night's sleep. Thanks Serta for a mattress that allows me to sleep on a cloud and throw those sheeps away!!
Unbelievably awesome sleep!
This mattress has literally changed my life! I have an old shoulder injury which has always made getting a good night sleep next to impossible. This mattress has completely changed that for me. Since the first night we brought this mattress home I have slept all the way through the night. I really enjoy the cooling techology- I owed a temperpedic previously and felt I always slept hot. We paired this mattress with the Serta motion 3 adjustable base and could not be happier.
Comfy
I slept so good my first night I woke up and was not even sure if I was supposed to go to work or if it was a weekend. I felt fantastic!
Excellent quality for the price
This is the most comfortable mattress ever. I have a herniated disc in my back and this mattress lets me sleep comfortably in any position. Love it!!
FANTASTIC!!!!
Love the product. There is no comparison to our last one. This is the greatest mattress I have ever had. Great sleep all night. You can't feel your partner move or get up. Every time you lay down on it, you literally say 'AAAHHH' I would recommend it to everyone.
Purchased this based on other reviews....
My wife and I have been customers of Serta for many years. This IComfort mattress was our first with regard to the gel/foam type. To me the concept is excellent and indeed it's unbelievable when you first lie on it. We bought ours in August of 2016. My biggest concern however; is that my side of the mattress is now leaving me feeling like I'm sleeping on the side of a hill. That is, the foam is apparently sagging in a certain area closer to the side. When I move closer to the center of the mattress, I can feel it in my back. My wife agrees when she lies on my side. I'm now wishing that we had bought the Hybrid version, which incorporates coils but also provides for the gel/foam design. In all fairness, I am not a skinny lightweight guy. I weigh about 250 lbs., which is probably why this is happening. I'm providing this detail because I sure do wish others had said this before we ordered it. Anyway, it will replaced more likely sooner, rather than later but very likely with the Hybrid version.
Looks very cozy
Was very comfortable for the first few months then started to wear in noticeably and start to sag. Have only had it for little over a year.
Finally sleeping like a baby!
I am beyond picky about my bed. A good nights sleep is the foundation for your day! My days have been awful...until I bought my iComfort! About a year ago, I purchased a foam 'bed in a box'. It was decently priced and I've always wanted a foam bed. Worst mistake ever! The last year of my life has resulted in body pain, sleepless nights and very long days. After house sitting for my mom and sleeping on her iComfort for a week I was sold! I jumped online and ordered a bed! I've had my bed for a couple weeks now and I cannot tell you how much I look forward to bed time. I cannot wait to crawl into my little slice of heaven! We also purchased the microfiber sheets and let me tell you....AMAZING! I'm asleep within minutes of my head hitting the pillow and I don't move all night! My hip, shoulder and back feel so much better and I'm not in nearly the pain I'm in daily. I feel that my body will feel even better in the months to come. If you're having any doubts about purchasing this bed, DONT! You won't be disappointed!
A must have for anyone who lives with chronic pain
I suffered a spiral break on my left shoulder in July 2015. I had surgery and have a titanium bar which connects to the ball of my shoulder down to the elbow. I was in therapy for over 6 months. Ever since my accident I would sleep with several pillows trying to get comfortable. I would feel like my arm was hanging on by a rubber band by late afternoon. We purchased our bed for our new home which we moved into March 13, 2017. I noticed the next morning I didn't feel as bad in the morning. After the second night's sleep I told my husband that my arm almost feels normal. Now, over a month later I'm overjoyed at how I feel and it has to be the bed. I love the zero gravity position. It takes the pressure off of my shoulder. I'm practically in tears over the difference in my life. I tell everyone that will listen that they have to get one. I'm 57 and my husband is 60. He loves the bed also. We have the individual controls so we actually have two twin XL beds. I was a little taken back by the price but feel its well worth it.
best mattress I have ever owned
this is the third mattress that I have purchased in the past thirty years. I has been the best mattress over all. the comfort and support it gives is wonderful. I have sleep better than I have in years.

The Serta iComfort Prodigy is the best bed I have ever owned. We purchased our first one right after they came out. I had back problems and we needed a new bed so we spent hours laying on the bed in the store and finally settled on it. My wife to this day still says its the best decision I ever made. About 2 years later we decided we wanted to move that mattress to our spare master bedroom for our guests, so we bought a new split king with the adjustable base. I loved it, but my wife was not a fan of the split king and our young sons are about the age where they will need a real bed, so we split the bed in to the two twins for their rooms and purchased a new king iComfort Prodigy III. Our third version of this mattress and we have loved every single one of them (obviously if we bought 3 of them right?). You can't go wrong with this mattress, I am sure you will not regret it if you purchase one.
Amazing for Side Sleepers
I had slept on a friend's a few times and decided I had to get one for myself! I am a side sleeper and this mattress has completely eliminated the frequent back pains I would get from sleeping on my old spring mattress. It gives to your body so you don't end up sleeping with your shoulders folded in toward each other every night. I read all of the reviews before purchasing and it does tend to get a little warmer than a standard spring mattress, but not excessively. I am generally a hot sleeper, but as long as I have the fan on, I'm fine. I've noticed that it will probably take some time to break the bed in to the point where it's as soft as my friend's but I still wake up every morning feeling amazing regardless.
4 months of sore hips and shoulder
I went to great lengths before purchasing as I have a limited budget . I bought this mattress 1/30/16 and wake up 15-40 times a night with hip and shoulder pain. I am so upset as I have financed this and can never t afford another new mattress. My back hurts and my legs hurt. By the way, I am a 45 yr old registered nurse , weight 135 and I am miserably sleeping on the couch
