Ortho

Ortho Mattress is a proud American manufacturer of mattresses based in southern California. They are also a mattress retailer that sells name brands like Serta and Tempur-Pedic alongside their own brand. With desirable price points that work for budget conscious shoppers, they offer a wide array of mattress styles, including all-foam and coil varieties. Most folks have good things to say about their Ortho mattresses.

Restonic

Restonic is a classic mattress brand, founded in the 1930s. Over the past eighty years, they have been focused on offering a competitive product in the retail mattress space for a solid price. They offer hybrid, innerspring, memory foam, and latex mattresses and boast rewards from multiple independent associations including Consumers Digest Award and Women's Choice award. Over time, they have focused on adding more luxury mattresses. While most like Restonic, there are some complaints about durability.

Based on our aggregated reviews and our scoring method, we recommend Restonic in this match up!

Ortho's Owner Satisfaction

Sleeper reviews can be hard to understand from a high level -- especially with companies coming in and out of the market quickly. These mattresses, unfortunately, aren't scored as well by customers. There are still customers that really appreciate these beds, but many others that don't. Research more below to learn about the specifics of the mattresses.

Ortho's Supportiveness

Customers report that these mattresses don't offer the kind of lasting support that some of the other brands may. Though most find these mattresses comfortable initally, if you are larger or have wide hips or shoulders, take a look at the mattress specs before buying.

Edge Support
For those that are excited about getting good edge support, you may want to take a look at the reviews as these mattresses have mixed reviews about edge support.

Ortho's Durability

These mattresses may not be as durable as you would hope after buying. Some customers have had issues with feel and longevity issues after a short time. If you are shopping for a mattress with lasting support but are also are larger than average person, you may experience good comfort initially, but take a look at the reviews before buying.

Restonic's Owner Satisfaction

Getting to the bottom of customer satisfaction is painstaking for the average shopper, especially with brands cleaning their online reputation. With that said, these mattresses are reviewed highly by customers overall. There were a few complaints from customers that couldn't get comfy so research more below to consider your body type with the mattress specifications!

Restonic's Supportiveness

Mattresses that are good at support are usually believed to be firm, but when we write about support, we are talking about material that aligns the spine. Most customers have rated this mattress well on its support, but rarely, there are some complaints.

Edge Support
Most find these mattresses to have good quality edge support, which preferred for those that like to sit on the edge of the bed or like to lie towards the sides of the mattress.

Bowling Ball & Density Tests
By placing a bowling ball on different parts of a mattress, you can measure how well a mattress will support the spine. These mattresses do a good job overall, but there are a select few who may experience discomfort.

Restonic's Durability

Longevity is one of the main things that makes an excellent mattress excellent, but because of the influx of new companies in the space, it can be hard to shoppers to understand. That said, customers are clear when you can read all of the reviews. Average sleepers find these mattresses to last more than a few years. Some who are larger may find their mattress to be less durable.

Great experience buying a mattress
Great experience buying a mattress. Knowledgeable, helpful, and not sales-y at all. There's a huge selection, but Johnny was able to help us narrow it down quickly based on our preferences and needs. Prices are reasonable (especially when you buy when there's a deal going on). We made our purchase at the end of the day, and the mattress was delivered (free) the next day without a hitch. Highly recommend!

Read the returns policy
Read the returns policy very carefully. We bought a $2000 mattress here 7 months ago. We carefully selected it in the store and it was delivered the following day. The first night we slept on it the mattress felt as hard as wet sand. I rang Ortho the next day to say I hated the mattress and wanted to exchange it. They told me to check the 'Comfort Guarantee' on the invoice. The customer must sleep on the mattress for 30 nights before exchanging it and there will be an additional $100 delivery fee and a 20 % restocking fee, bringing the cost of our mattress to $2500 (now that is getting expensive). I told them I thought the mattress in the store was much softer than the mattress we were sent. They told me mattresses in the store had softened over time and so would mine. I thought why bother trying a different mattress in the store if the sample mattresses are so different to the delivered mattress? $2000 is a lot for a mattress but $2500 is seriously expensive and out of my price range. Now 7 months have passed and I still hate the mattress and it still is very hard and hurts my shoulders and neck. I wish we had bought from a store with a more generous returns policy.

I had purchased a queen size mattress
I had purchased a queen size mattress from Ortho (Culver City, CA) in August of this year. For a long time (since I purchased it) I have been experiencing severe back pains when I wake up in the morning. At first I thought it was because of my pillows or because I may not be sleeping correctly, but after changing the pillows the pains till remained. I consulted a doctor and he told me that it could be because of the mattress! Now, after trying the same pillows on different mattresses and sleeping on that mattress without any pillows, or I would say all possible combinations, I think the problem is with the mattress. When I was at the store, the salesman was not at all helpful. I was there with my friends and all the time he was talking to his colleague while we had to figure out what mattress should we purchase to get maximum comfort. We had to ask for him every time we had a question. Besides, before purchasing the mattress I asked them if there were any exchange or return policies and the salesman told me that the mattress was neither exchangeable not can be returned! Which means that if the mattress doesn't suit you then there's no way you can exchange it with, probably, a better and expensive one and you are stuck!! I have spent over $400 on the mattress and now I cannot exchange or return it. I just wanted to mention that inspite of the poor customer service at the store I bought the mattress and I will say that this was THE WORST $400 I have ever spent in my life.

Went to get a new bed
Went to get a new bed because it was time to move beyond the queen size mattress. I've bought two other mattresses in the past 4 years and this was the best experience by far! Dan was very knowledgeable and respectful and didn't give off that annoying mattress sales hustling vibe I have experienced at other places. We even left after choosing the mattress to just be sure by visiting other stores and that only confirmed that this ortho store was the best place to buy from. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was for the range of selection behind their internal brand, but even that was good just not ideal.

Don't make 'em like they used to!
Four years ago I replaced my very long term Ortho Cal King Extra firm. It had a 25 year warranty and I had it for about 28 years. I loved that mattress for years and years and wanted to replace it with another, only a Queen based on the space now available. I went to a store in WeHo, CA, listed as an Ortho store and bought what the representative said would be closest to what I'd had and the price would be about $1,500.00, 50% higher than the one being replaced. We’ve had a lot of inflation in the intervening years so I shrugged and said, 'Ok.' I bought it. It was nothing like the one being replaced, much too soft. After about 18 months there started the development of a depression in the part of the bed where I sleep. That depression now requires SEVEN towels to raise the hole to the point where my back is not severely distorted. This is far worse than the Kapok mattress I slept on as a child. The reason for the original Ortho was on the suggestion of the surgeon after a reconstructive back surgery. It worked and I slept wonderfully on that mattress. This new one has a 20 year warranty, full replacement up to five years. I ask you, why would I want to replace it with another expensive piece of junk. I feel very ripped off and would like to know what happened to the products Ortho used to make? In the introductory comments there is mention that Ortho basically is a budget mattress. According to the Individual styles with commentary it would appear that they do have more lower end products than I'd known, but while it might not be the highest end unit on the market, I certainly do not consider $1,500.00 in the budget range. If you are considering an Ortho mattress I would strongly urge you to spend your money on something else. Sign me, "Oh, my aching back!"

This place is a fraud
This place is a fraud..... I purchased a mattress set paid $1,500.00 for it less than 3-years ago, and the mattress is worthless! I was given a 10-year warranty, which is worthless. I called to get the mattress set replaced since it suppose to be under warranty, because the mattress is sagging, when we sleep you sink into the mattress, which causes us to have back aches and sleepless nights, plus it's difficult to get in and out of bed since you sink in. When I called they said I had to pay $60.00 to have a third party inspector come to my home and inspect the mattress, so I paid since I had no choice, it took 3-weeks to get an inspector to come to my home to inspect the mattress, they I get a letter saying my claim is denied. They do not stand by their warranty, dishonest company.

I have been shopping for a mattress
I have been shopping for a mattress and have visited several stores. Johnny here was the most knowledge and courteous salesperson I have seen in all the stores. He took the time to really understand our needs and concerns and did his best to address them. I would definitely recommend him.

Adam was fantastic
Adam was fantastic he is a wonderful sales man and a great person. You should ask for him anytime you go. He bent over backwards to meet our needs.

My husband and I...
My husband and I walked in not knowing what to expect we were greeted by Cliff he listened to our needs made several suggestions was very knowledgeable and helpful. We walked away with a great mattress and very happy with service.

Great mattresses
Great mattresses. Great service. I can't say enough great things about ortho mattress. Its a family owned business and even though I am in the military and tend to go to the Navy Exchange I will never go there for a mattress again. Pricewise the better deals and better mattresses are here. Navy Exchange had unknowledgable sales people. The location and delivery is convenient and quick

Just bought a mattress
Just bought a mattress with Bernard at the mission valley location. I was shopping around all day at various places, Jerome's, Macy's, etc but found the best deal here. Not only did Bernard spend time going over the various types of mattresses but he also asked questions to ensure it was the right mattress for me. It was a very comfortable and non sales approach. I recommend you stop by and ask for Bernard if you're shopping around, give them a shot!

The salesman was awkward
The salesman was awkward, condescending, and eventually insulting. He spoke to us like children... He would have never treated us like that had my husband been there. Most uncomfortable sales experience in which I have ever been involved.

Adam was vary helpfull
Adam was vary helpfull. He got us set up with the best matrices I have ever been on. Got us set up with delivery and protection. This was the best experience of purchasing a mattress or any other furniture in my life time. This man was so friendly and nice, he realy helped us out on getting everything we needed.

I was very happy
I was very happy with their salesman Adam. He is both knowledgable about mattresses and a very likable guy. I felt at ease making my selection and not needing to go to other stores to shop further. There was never any pressure and he worked with me on the price. The delivery was on time as promised. I recommend Ortho and cheers to Adam! ... thank you.

Great customer service
Great customer service. Manager Michael goes out of his way to help and is very knowledgeable on different options. Shop when holiday sales are happening for the best deals.

Great costumer service
Great costumer service and great variety of quality products. Michael was very helpful and friendly.

Purchased a mattress and 2 pillows
Purchased a mattress and 2 pillows. Do not purchase pillows here! The pillows are the worst. Felt like we were sleeping on rubber tires. They are unusable. I talked to the corporate office and they said I could pay to ship the pillows to corporate office and if there is a defect they would send replacement pillows. I already payed $200 for the pillows and refuse to pay for shipping to their corporate office. They would not honor paying for the UPS shipment. Hope no one else buys pillows from Ortho Mattress. Go to Sleep Train!

As soon as my husband...

If you're looking for a great mattress
If you're looking for a great mattress with phenomenal customer service, look no further! This place is the absolute Best! Michael and Joshua are knowledgable, genuine, and patient. They truly have your best interest at heart. Best mattress buying experience .

Ok
Ok, here's what's gonna happen. After endless nights, weeks, months, even years of sleeping on a sub-par mattress you're gonna take the leap to get a new bed. You're going to go to Ortho Mattress. You're going to ask for Karl. He's going to be incredibly knowledgable on all the different types of mattresses and beds out there. You're going to try different beds in the store, possibly to humor yourself with due diligence. But really none of that is going to matter because the mattress that you want is the Stearns & Foster Villa Julietta. You're going to melt into this mattress. It's like nothing you've ever experienced before. You're going to look at the price and think, "I can't afford this." Then you're going to mention this review and ask for the "special Karl price". He's gonna take care of you. Within days your new mattress will be delivered and you will live happily ever after. The End.

Good store
Good store, very knowledgable staff. Mary was so insightful and caring. My latex mattress is the best and I have her to thank. She was very patient with me. Choosing a mattress can be difficult when you don't know anything about them! These guys know the biz well. Very impressed. I'm extremely happy and I sleep awesome now :) I may go back for the adjustable addition one day.

Came in to browse mattresses
Came in to browse mattresses as mine was totally ancient and needed to be replaced. All the employees were very helpful here, but adam ended up giving us a great deal that we couldn't refuse, so we ended up getting a mattress that day and didn't need to shop anywhere else! Thanks Adam!

Excellent
Excellent service from Michael! He walked me through a selection of mattresses for our guest room and I found the perfect one in less than 10 mins! Highly recommend!

Great selection
Great selection of mattresses and knowledgeable, friendly staff. I highly recommend working with Danny who helped me choose the perfect bed. He listened to what I was looking for and matched the perfect mattress accordingly. He did not up-sell me on an expensive mattress, in fact, he recommended I buy the mattress Ortho manufactures- which I did. They have great prices! He was honest and weighed the pros & cons of the various mattresses. They offer free delivery and free hauling of my old mattress. My sister had previously bought her mattress at this exact Ortho and had a great experience. I will gladly recommend this Ortho location to friends & family.

I've bought several beds from this location
I've bought several beds from this location. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my mattress needs! PROs: Just bought my second iQ mattress from this store. By far best customer service that you could ever expect! The salesman "Scotty" was extremely knowledgable on all items in the store. We discussed exactly what we were looking for and he knew the perfect mattress for my wife and I. We bought one mattress set 2 months ago and loved it so much that were buying another set for our mom for Christmas. If you need a new mattress, pillows, or bed frames this is the BEST PLACE TO GO IN SAN DIEGO! CONs: Zero!

This place is great
This place is great. Had the best customer service from Michael. Highly recommend this spot for a mattress

Excellent service here
Excellent service here so happy with our purchase! Adam Pennington helped us out and he answered to our 100 questions, let us lay on every mattress and ultimately his initial suggestions were the best fit for us! Super fast service, worked with out budget and stayed at closing to finish up with us. Highly recommend!

Never thought I would rate...
Never thought I would rate and write a note about a mattress purchase, however, we received exceptional service and it is worth it to let others know of a great experience. Mike, the manager of this mattress store helped me months ago and explained in detail the features of the final three I was considering. He explained the pros and cons of each and I went with one that just felt better in the store. He said the only advantage of the one I didn't go with was that it stayed cooler at night and with the "good night sleep guarantee" I could exchange of not completely satisfied. I always wonders how genuine that promise was and sure Enough I ended up feeling warm at night and put the guarantee to the test. When I went back, Mike was there and was very receptive to my request to exchange and even had me try the one I wanted again to see if I still liked it. He said no problem Abd in fact that it was great sleep that he wanted for customers and that it was not inconvenient at all and that he was happy to exchange at the very small stated fee I. The guarantee. Kudos to ortho mattress for that policy and for Mike and his store for making it a pleasure to do business. Will shop there again next time needing a new mattress.

We seriously needed a new bed
We seriously needed a new bed! We wanted a cool, fairly firm bed at a reasonable price. My husband is a back and side sleeper. I am a stomach and side sleeper. We had our work cut out for us... We went to the store on Camino de la Reina to check things out. That is when we met Scottie Beason! He is extremely knowledgeable, asks a lot of questions regarding sleep position and pointed us in the right direction. We are thrilled with our pick and are sleeping so much more comfortably! Lastly, I want to mention the two delivery men (Rolando and Brian) who went out of their way to set up the bed and remove our old bed. They were neat and thorough and very friendly.

I really enjoyed picking up a mattress
I really enjoyed picking up a mattress here. They were quick and efficient with all of the choices. I needed a mattress immediately and didn't have a long time to spend in the store. I was in and out in less than an hour and I have an amazing mattress. I am so satisfied. Michael is a great person to talk to if you come into the store!

This is my second Ortho mattress
This is my second Ortho mattress, and the deal this time was just as great as last time! Adam worked with us for an hour to help us pick out the proper softness. Such a good experience I've even considered getting mattresses shipped from here to my family up north for my sister/her husband and my mom.

A lot more variety
A lot more variety than other stores. Easy, a little more than we expected to spend but they helped us out a lot.

I went to this store
I went to this store because of their Sales tax promotion and the need for a more supportive mattress. Scottie was super helpful and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. So I sent my girlfriend over since her opinion really mattered the most. She met with Karl and found the right fit. I went back a week later and made the purchase that afternoon and it was delivered that evening. Now that is service! Highly recommend this shop. The delivery crew was super nice and cooperative. They even covered our old mattress in plastic in our garage, since we were donating it that weekend. Took about 40 minutes from beginning to end. My only complaint is there is a larger space between the head of the mattress and the headboard, so our pillow tends to fall into the gap after returning it from incline to flat. But that is minor at best.

I pretty big showroom
A pretty big showroom with a wide selection of mattresses and very helpful salespeople. There is a parking lot located on the side of the store so no need to drive around looking for parking. You should be able to find a mattress that suits you. As we walked in, we were overwhelmed with the variety of mattresses and what the differences were. Mary helped us decipher what kind of mattress was best for us. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and very easy to talk to. She knew everything about the different mattresses and what kind of mattress fit our needs (taking into account back problems, etc.). She was comfortable and not pushy at all. We were able to get a very good deal on a mattress and felt comfortable with our purchase. They have a generous return policy and warranty. Delivery was free and the entire purchase was just very comfortable and easy. We will be returning for our next mattress purchase.

This was my first mattress
This was my first mattress buying experience and I'm very satisfied with my visit. Adam is very knowledgeable, non pressuring, and really helps you pick the right mattress for all of your comfort and financial needs! Thank you!!

They delivered the mattress
They delivered the mattress and set it up. I told them it was set too high off the floor. They told me to try it and they would return and adjust it if I still felt it was too high. Well it remained too high. When I called the store they said it would cost me $120 to have them return and adjust it. I complained and they agreed to charge $65. The bed was over $ 4,200. They were in a hurry to get back home and did NOT TELL ME IT would cost me over $120 to have them return. Otherwise I would have insisted they set it up correctly in the first place. The manager acted like it was a big favor to charge me half to return. They also told me I should go buy special adhesive to attach the headboard as they didn't believe the included hardware would work. The customer service at this store sucks. Once they have your money it's very difficult to cancel. Go to any mattress store except this one.

I been shopping for a mattress
I been shopping for a mattress for a couple of weeks now. Stopped by at Jeromes where I had an amazing sales guy spend over an hour educating me on mattresses, then went to mattress firm and thirdly went to ortho mattress with a guy named Alex. The guy didn't spend 5 minutes with me explaining nothing but rather half ass answering questions and after those 5 minutes he starts pressuring me like crazy that I needed to walk out with a mattress sold by him before I left. This guy has shit for brains! I won't even go back to Ortho mattress or consider them for anything. If they have a sales guy that is so crude and clueless and wants to force a sale when he hasn't spend any time educating me, the only thing he did is shit talk Jeromes and Mattress firm but gave zero technical data about why I should buy from them other than I've shopped enough and should buy their mattresses now. What a crude ignorant buffoon! then when I told him to give me his business card he got all upset and said don't bother ... what a jack ass! ... its hard to pick a mattress by lying on one for a minute but at least the Jerome's guy was a perfect gentleman and educated me rather than pressure me after 5 minutes in the store! ... this guy Alex reminds me of those meat heads that buy a girl a drink in the bar and think they are going to get laid after a 5 minute conversation! lame lame lame!

Loved our experience
Loved our experience at Orho mattress today. Scott was super helpful, gave us a great deal, and provided great customer service. This was our second purchase at this Ortho location and my wife and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Can't wait for our mattress to get delivered on Monday. Highly recommend Ortho mattress and especially this location.

The salesman here was terrible
The salesman here was terrible. A thicker, bald guy, he was heavily pushing the temperpedic mattresses so much so that he wouldn't even answer questions about the other types without steering the conversation back to temperpedic. He would give no info (which were soft, firm, number of springs whatever), The only things he had to say about other models were reasons why they were a bad idea. Finally it started to feel like a waste of all of our time so I directly said 'We don't want a memory foam mattress.' He then immediately stopped speaking or making eye contact with me and spoke only to my husband, going so far as introducing himself and shaking my husband's hand while making no effort to shake mine! He asked my husband about our budget and when my husband gave him a number (less than a temperpedic) he began pushing the store brand memory foam mattress. When my husband didn't appear to be interested the salesman then stated that if it was a price issue we really did not need a king size and that a queen size temperpedic would be all we needed because we would be moving less because of how restful they are. Seriously?! As someone who has sales experience I understand that there were two things he was probably going for- the fat commission from a temperpedic and the points he received from his store for selling their brand. As a salesperson I can also tell you that when someone isn't interested in what you wish they would buy you suck it up, move forward, and show them something they could be interested in. This guy didn't even pretend to care about what we were interested in. And honestly I'm not sure there was anything I could've been interested in buying because the he was such a turn off I got out of there as soon as possible. I strongly suggest the sleep train right across the street for more options and better service.

We had a great experience at Ortho
We had a great experience at Ortho onWashington Blvd in Culver City. Our salesperson was so knowledgeable and friendly. He was so helpful and answered all of our questions. We didn't realize the multitude of options when it comes to buying a mattress! We found a great mattress thanks to Johnny Sawyer (I think that was his name). Never met a better salesperson! Very nice and genuine. Would highly recommend !

Going for (and achieving) 'best of both worlds' between latex and memory foam. A revolution over conventional innersprings.
Man - half a year or so ago, I made the switch from my old innerspring Queen mattress to a new King memory foam mattress. The differences were staggering -- vastly superior comfort, quietness, no back pain, and I could enter / exit the bed without awakening my girlfriend when she was sleeping over.

I recently got the opportunity to review this, which I consider to be a 'hybrid' memory / latex foam mattress, and find it has a number of benefits over a conventional all-memory foam mattress, but a couple small drawbacks as well. Bottom line, I'm immensely happy with this mattress and consider it an upgrade over my older memory foam.

ADVANTAGES:
+ this mattress has superior comfort to an innerspring mattress. While it's a slightly firmer overall to my softer memory foam, I find this a plus. A pure memory foam mattress can allow you to sink so low that it's almost a challenge at times to change positions
+ to put it bluntly , the extra support and added bounciness make this mattress WAY better for sex. A pure memory foam is comfortable sleeping but can be too soft and allow sinking when you're on your knees / elbows, etc. The latex / memory foam hybrid design means you don't sink way down when you're on your knees during sex. This is a nice design upgrade
+ I find this mattress to be nice a cool sleeping, though my memory foam was as well
+ less unpleasant smell during the initial expansion phase vs. memory foam
+ the packing on this was superb. The box was well-sealed and the mattress itself was securely rolled in heavy duty vaccum-sealed plastic. This made it a lot easier to wrestle around vs. my memory foam, which was vacuum-sealed as well, but in weaker plastic. The tarp it was in had busted and so had the box -- so I appreciate the secure packing of my Brio mattress

DISADVANTAGES:
- this mattress is more expensive than generic brand memory foam mattresses
- it feels a bit heavier as well, making it heavier to move
- being just a bit firmer than an all-memory foam mattress, there's just a touch more motion transference. While it is worlds better than a conventional innerspring, you don't get that total motion isolation afforded by an all-memory foam mattress

CONCLUSION:
If you're looking to upgrade from a conventional innerspring mattress, I think the Restonic Brio is a good choice for you. You get the coolness, support, and slight springiness of latex with the 'sleeping on a cloud' feeling of memory foam. The Restonic's added support makes it superior for sex - which, while not the primary purpose for a mattress, is still worth considering. It's heavier and more awkward to move than memory foam (and both are more awkward than a conventional mattress) but I honestly find the comfort benefits to be well worth the tradeoff. This is a solidly constructed mattress, MADE IN THE USA, that combines a number of modern technologies to provide a superior sleeping experience. If you've never tried a modern foam mattress -- go test one (find a friend or a store). If you like the experience, then consider buying the Brio Restonic. As an owner of conventional, memory foam, and now the Restonic mattress, I can safely say that they've really got a 'best of all worlds' design with this mattress. 5 stars!

A relatively afforadable memory foam mattress with medium support
The Restonic Brio Mattress is a quality mattress for people who are looking for affordable medium support, but with the cradling forgiveness of memory foam. I reviewed the twin size.

I have slept on several types of foam mattress: the lowest end Tempur-Pedic, a mid-to-high end Tempur-Pedic, Classic Brands Cool Gel Memory Foam mattress (found on amazon), and a Serta hybrid mattress that has springs with a built-in 2 inch foam top. It's difficult to review a mattress, because everyone has personal tastes and needs when it comes to their sleep. I have found that the Restonic Brio provides a quality sleep if you're ok with the mattress providing some give in the support when you rest on it.

The Restonic Brio comes in a large box. My mattress had plenty of space inside because I think the full and queen sizes are packaged into the same kind of box. But these all-foam mattresses are much better for shipping/purchasing through Amazon than spring-based mattresses are. My box arrived on a very rainy day and it was left outside for a couple hours before I came home. The cardboard box was soaked. Luckily, the mattress was packed inside a vacuumed sealed plastic bag and was completely dry inside the plastic. Since it's vacuum packed, there is no air inside and the mattress is squished down to about a quarter of it's size. You will need to carefully cut the plastic bag and pull the mattress out. It will expand to about 90% of it's full size in just a couple minutes. You probably need to let it sit for another hour before it completely goes back to it's full mattress size, most notably in the corners. In my experience, all foam mattresses have a chemical smell and need to be aired out for a couple days before you can sleep on them. Amazingly, the Restonic Brio wasn't bad. There wasn't much of a chemical smell to begin with, and I just let it air out overnight and I didn't detect an odor afterward. The mattress comes with the cover already on it. I put some sheets directly on top of that (don't use a mattress pad with a foam-based mattress) and slept on it for 3 nights and took a nap on it as well. To provide some relative perspective, I weigh about 200 lbs and have a BMI between 24-25.

The Restonic Brio is very similar in feel to the Classic Brands Cool Gel Memory Foam mattress. When you lay on it, it has a noticeable give to it, but as you lay motionless, you do feel a little bit of a wrapping sensation around you. It is comfortable if you like a medium-level of support. I have minor lower back issues, and since I switched to a mid-to-high end Tempur-Pedic mattress, they have gone away. After 3 nights on the Restonic, I slept soundly, but my lower back was starting to feel a little discomfort after the 3rd night. This is because I like a firm mattress for my back. Even my low-end Tempur-Pedic is more firm than the Restonic Brio. Now, naturally, any Tempur-Pedic model will give you a much denser foam, but that comes at a huge cost increase compared to this mattress. It really comes down to what you individually prefer, and can afford.

In general, if you are looking to buy a mattress from Amazon, I do recommend going with a foam mattress because they do ship much better than springs. I would personally have liked to see a little more firmness from the Restonic Brio, but I can't knock it too much because it is relatively affordable, comfortable, and seems like it will hold up for years. If you want a medium-support mattress, I can easily recommend that you look into this Restonic Brio. If you need more back support because you have chronic lower back pain, I think you should look for something firmer.

Love this mattress. So comfortable.
I recently tried a memory foam for the first time with a memory foam topper. I loved it so much I wanted a full on memory foam mattress.
I had tried to use a memory foam pillow several years ago and I hated it. It was too hard and stiff. Because of that, I never had any desire to try a whole mattress made of memory foam. Boy, was I missing out. Having a chronic pain disorder, my hips would hurt so bad I would have to get up because I just couldn't lay there anymore. I wasn't getting much sleep at all. After getting the memory foam topper I never woke up with hip pain again. This mattress is perfect because it has a combination of latex and memory foam which not only allows for a pain-free sleep but also helps to keep me cool while I sleep. I tend to get hot while I sleep, so that is a big plus. This mattress is very comfortable for me. Much, much more comfortable than my old standard pillow top mattress.

This is a heavy mattress so you'll want to make sure you open it where you want it because it can be a bit awkward to carry around. It comes compressed for shipping and it doesn't take long at all for it to decompress. So far, I am very happy with this mattress. It looks nice and feels divine.

I liked sleep before, but I freakin' LOVE it now!!
Okay, I have to say... this mattress is AMAZING! I'm relatively new to memory foam, only having occasionally slept on one at a friend's house. (First time was a few months ago.) His wasn't bad, I liked it okay. But this one is SO much better! It's quite soft and relaxing, but firm enough to provide good support.

I have the mattress on a wooden slat bed frame, and it's just great. The thing I was worried most was about getting too hot. I run hot in the middle of the night, I will typically wake up to kick off the covers, with my old box spring and traditional mattress, but I haven't had that issue with this one! I find I toss and turn less, which is such a plus for me.

The look is quite nice, it's sleek and modern, and the cover of the fabric is great. The mattress seems really well made, like it'll hold up for a decade at least. It breathes really well, it's so comfortable, and I find I'm already sleeping well.

This is my first foray into the world of memory foam, and I'm never going back! I have absolutely no complaints. I'd highly recommend this mattress, and I'm definitely sold on this brand.

'I have never taken any exercise except sleeping and resting.'--Mark Twain
This Restonic mattress looks great, has minimal off-gassing smell when opened, and gives perfectly adequate support. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because, for us, five stars means This Is It, the best choice you can make in the price bracket. We recently reviewed a Zinus twin mattress, and besides being cheaper across all sizes was also heaven to sleep on. That one we gave five stars.

We recommend the Restonic Brio mattress, but we do not think it is the end-all be-all in the category. The quality is there, it has a cool surf pattern on the surface, and it arrived intact and as advertised. If they float the price down to the $600 range, bump the rating up one star. In the current $800+ range, we rate it:

GRADE: B

Ships Well - Sleeps Well (cradles you the way only memory foam can do)...
We've been using this Restonic Brio Mattress (full size) for my 10-year old daughter's bed and I (Dad) have been sleeping well on it. Why am I not sleeping in my own bed you ask?...daughter likes to sleep with Mommy...Daddy swaps places and falls asleep peacefully on a couple of pillow pets. I wasn't complaining in having a new mattress in my room..err...my daughter's room since this was replacing a 25+ year old mattress with some lumpy spring that seem to poke in all the wrong places.

So back to the Restonic Brio mattress. First off I was very impressed with the shipping. The last mattress I had delivered to my house was a coil/spring king size mattress...it arrived sealed in a plastic bag but was fairly scuffed up from the travel...the sealed bag had some rips and some of the actual mattress had scuff stains and tears. Not this Brio - the beauty of memory foam is that this thing came compressed/sealed in a cardboard box that was maybe the size of a dishwasher. I opened up the mattress and it uncompressed to full mattress shape thus prompting my wife to say 'you will never ever get that mattress to go back in that box - trash that box, rake the leaves, put away the dishes, blah, blah, blah, etc, etc'.

I was impressed with the actual mattress quality - nice fabric, durable stitching, sleek euro type look. But bottom line___ mattresses are for providing a comfortable night's sleep...my daughter and I have both logged some nights on this mattress and I'm happy to report that we both get a good night's sleep on this puppy. This is the only memory foam mattress in our house but I've slept on other memory foam mattresses. I would say that this memory foam/latex combo is a bit firmer than typical memory foam mattresses I've slept on but still in the 'medium' range of firmness...ie, my king bed spring/coil mattress is a bit firmer but I don't have any back problems (yet) so either works fine for me. Temperature-wise this mattress stays cool enough for me...no issues there.

So overall, I like this Brio mattress (especially compared to the 25+ year old one it replaced). I like the way it came nicely shipped. Good quality. Attractive design. Comfortable night's sleep and doesn't overheat. Tonight I will sink into my mattress to be cradled the way only memory foam can do, I'll snuggle up with a couple of pillow pets, maybe even eat a couple of rolls of Smarties from the night stand drawer and wash it down with a half drank Capri Sun that is still lying next to the bed. At current price of $725 not the lowest price relative to various competition but a solid good quality choice - 4-STAR rating from me in consideration of price/value.

Perfect
This Restonic Brio Mattress is just perfect, the quality of this mattress is some of the best I have come across. The mattress I received is queen sized, and measures 80 inches x 60 inches x 10 inches. This mattress arrived compressed, but once it was let out of the packaging it fluffed up to its natural size. This mattress is excellent and doesn't sink when someone lies on it, but rather it adjusts to the body on it. This mattress provides true comfort, and I like it a lot, it came at the right time (since I had a queen sized bed base, from amazon too), so this mattress will now complete the new bed.

On a side note, when this was opened, it was left to air for a while before using it.

This mattress is wonderful
This mattress is wonderful, it came to our doorstep and was so easy to set up. It is the best mattress and so comfortable. Worth every penny.I highly recommend it. This one is for our son and we are thinking about getting a king size for us !!

High recommendation for comfort even for a chronic pain sufferer
The memory foam provides a very natural feeling of support to the body. It's easy to get comfortable in a variety of sleeping positions but it is also easy to get comfortable for reading in bed. I have chronic pain in knee, hip, back, etc. and this has helped give a little ease to these problem areas. I'm not saying it took all my problems away but a significant improvement in staying comfortable in bed through the night, less tossing and turning, relaxed muscles and reduced pain in joints. Now imagine how great it will make you feel if you don't even have any of those health concerns! Either way, it's a great night's sleep once you get used to the feel. Took me a couple of days to truly get used to but loved it from the first time that I lay down for a little test rest! At first the little bounce is a different feel compared to other mattresses.

The mattress I bought was not even 10 months old...
The mattress I bought was not even 10 months old before it started sagging, I've turned it many times, it does no good. The warranty is trash, It cost to much for the company I bought it from to take it back. Never again will I buy your products. My husband is blind and has fallen off many times. We don't sleep well, trying to keep from falling off the edge. Paid extra for the protection on a bed that's trash. I'd heard of you for years and thought you were a better company, it would be nice if you could change my mind and tell everyone something better.

I went to visit my sister...
I went to visit my sister a month ago. She have a restonic mattress in the spare bedroom. I told her that I slept very well in this bed. She explain to me about her restonic mattress and why she prefer the gel instead of foam. It make a lots of sense because I wasn't like sinking in that bed. I bought few years a go a mattress with a very tick pillow top but since I try restonic at my sister place, for sure it will be the next one on my list.

I got a Restonic mattress about a year ago...
I got a Restonic mattress about a year ago, as far as I know it's still under warranty, the very top of the mattress, the top layer of material that has all the decorative stitching in it has all come undone around all the stitching leaving the foam exposed, they were contacted and photos supplied and they will not stand behind their product. The main sleeping surface is coming apart after not even a year and is just going to get worse, this even happened while being covered with a mattress cover, I will never buy one of their products again, that's ok, one bad review is worth lots of lost sales, they should have stood by their product.

Once I fall to sleep.
The mattress is doing well. I just have a difficult time falling asleep. Sometimes I rest pretty well and other times I don't. It's an age thing I suppose? I purchased the mattress in hopes of it helping me get a better nights sleep. I guess it was for a duration of the time I slept, rather than getting a better nights sleep?

Work in progress
We have only had it a few weeks. It was really firm the first week but that is getting better. Also we get very hot at night but we are not giving up yet.

Sound sleeper
No more tossing and turning to get comfortable, very satisfied with my mattress

Restonic is the bomb!
We've had our restonic now for 8 years and it still like sleeping on a cloud I would not have another mattress with another name other than Resonic for the rest of my life!

not good
This is one of the lumpiest mattresses I've ever owned. We tried to use the warranty as it is very lumpy and has indentions but since it's not a 2"indention in every area only in some, they wouldn't honor it. Will be the last Restonic that we purchase.

Horrible/Terrific!
The first couple of nights were sleepless as mattress slept very firm with a lumpy feeling at legs and middle of back. After first week, horrible sleepless nights turned into sweet slumber! We love our new mattress. With the coils that are individually wrapped it is truly a buffer for movement. My hubby outweighs me by 100 pounds. When be moves around or exits the bed I am not aware of anything happening! The man I bought the mattress from told me there would be an adjustment period. He was right and I am so thankful we stuck it out! Great mattress, great sleep, great life!

I love my Restonic mattress
I’ve had it since June 2015 and the mattress just feels better and better. Nice product!

Mattress
My mattress when I first got it was so wonderful but now I find the area I sleep in has sunk a little too much. I have been waking with a backache so I don't know if the mattress is doing what I hoped it would do. I have turned the mattress numerous times.

Ahhhhhhhhh sleep finally
I purchased a Restonic mattress back in March and I must say my back aches and leg problems have come to a halt. I actually sleep through the night for first time in years. If you can't sleep and wake up with a back ache every day, please go get yourself a new Restonic mattress. Its worth every penny you spend on it. Why have sleepless nights when you can have great nights rest and wake up feeling refreshed and pain free. The only thing i don't like about the mattress is that the pillow top cording around the top of mattress appears to be pulling away from the fabric and making it appear as though it will come apart. That part i do not like.

Comfort
Both of us are enjoying the mattresses very comfy.

restonic mattress
so far so good - no complaints at this point.

Not as good as last Restonic
To be honest, I am very disappointed in this new mattress. I wish there was a way to get my old Restonic of 23 years back. It was so comfortable but we felt after that length of time, we should get a new one and I am so sorry. I sin k into thios one and I don't feel that it is firm at all. Can you do anything to replace it? Do I have a faulty one? Also, I almost slide off the edge when I am putting socks on. I prefer the old type of mattress with the edging for this. Why did they have to change this??

Restonic is a Cloud
It's amazing how a good mattress can change your life. A good night sleep dictates how productive you can be the whole day. My Restonic is like sleeping on a cloud, no more waking up with back pain, sore shoulder or feeling short changed on sleep. We waited way too long to buy a new mattress, and so glad we purchased the Restonic. It was in our budget, and have recommended it to all our friends. Thanks Restonic

King Mattress
This is a very nice mattress for the price that I got it for. I would buy one again.

*FINALLY* NO MORE PAIN WHEN WAKING!
Found an up front and honest bed store owner who has sold Restonic for 25 years. Why? They are the most durable mattresses on the market. As he stated, "All mattresses that are enjoyed in the showroom start the same, how soon they fail in your bedroom depends on what lies in the middle between your head and feet. Let me introduce you to the Marvelous Middle”. I now have my first Restonic. A Hybrid Signature Plush. I got a 25 year warranty, a bed that I believe will last longer than those other brands, and I want you to avoid going down the same road I went down for a decade by letting commercialism effect your decision. Sometimes better is not what is being sold on television with lovable sheep, but by what folks who would rather have you sleeping on quality than quantity. Glad to be part of the Restonic family.

Restonic
Still enjoying wonderful night sleep. Recommended restonic to daughter and son in law they love their new mattress!

Restonic ComfortCare select key west limited edition
Bought the king mattress from a local furniture store. Had it 3 months when we noticed that it was caving in and staying indented where me and my husband each slept. It's one of the most comfortable mattresses we've ever had but became uncomfortable and unsatisfying when we were stuck in that one spot Bc if we tried scooting over, our bodies rolled into that indented spot. We fought with furniture store to pick it up and it got restuffed by the makers. Hoping there are no more issues.

outstanding!
Great company, outstanding service!

Undecided
Originally I thought the mattress was great, but now I wake up every morning with a pinched nerve, plus we have a ridge down the center of the mattress.

LOVE my Restonic
Check out the Restonic mattresses at www.atlastsleepsystems.com , The cushion firm is the best mattress I have ever laid down on. I shopped every store in our town and laid on over 100 different mattresses and the Restonic @last cushion firm blew away all the compitition. I couldn't be more happy with my Restonic.

Super comfortable mattress. Love it!
We had our old mattress for over 15 years. Replaced with Restonic mattress and have been very pleased. My only complaint is that it's hard to get out of in the morning because it's so comfy.

Great, not perfect
No inner-spring mattress will ever solve the middle hump problem, but it's already here, two months in. Otherwise, I sleep beautifully.

Mattress sagging already
I can't remember the exact date but we purchased this mattress no more than six months ago and it is already sagging. My husband only weighs 150 so I don't understand why it is sinking already. The mattress was great for the first month we had it though.

Love my mattres
We have had our mattres for almost 1 year and we still love going to bed!

Restonic Mattress
Excellent value and so very comfortable.

My new bed
I love my new bed. With medical issues the ability to elevate both head and feet are perfect for me.

Indented
We purchased a restonic mattress a few years ago. We have had to buy a foam pad due to the indentions that have formed from where we lay at night. My husband and I are not large people and I feel that the mattress has not held up.

matress seems to be losing support and structure
our mattress is under warranty and we we're trying to het some help because it is sagging and losing its structure
