It's crazy, because before you need a new mattress, you barely pay attention to the mattress stores you pass. Once they're on your radar, though, you see them EVERYWHERE! It's very overwhelming.
How do you know who to trust?

It's an extremely intimidating process & it's even harder to make a decision on your own.
I did a bit of research beforehand, but it's hard to really get a feel of the mechanics of mattresses without actually experiencing them. So I decided I'd head out into the land of many mattresses.
Luckily for me, the idea that I needed a new mattress popped onto my radar during Memorial Day weekend. I didn't even realize it until I saw how many great sales were happening. I started to stop at stores & see what the process was in-store & i had many different experiences. I met some really great sales people over the weekend, but no one really made me feel empowered to buy from them.
I stumbled upon Mattress King one afternoon & I went in with very low expectations. I thought I had already made my mind up on something & was just going to other stores to feel better about my decision. When I visited Mattress King, I was immediately greeted with great energy & a willingness to find exactly what I was looking for. It didn't feel like I was being brushed off or rushed- or cornered to buy something. It felt a bit refreshing.
Joe & Johnny leveled with me & discussed all of the options that I had. I could tell that they not only wanted me to have something of quality, they wanted to make sure I got my money's worth. They were extremely knowledgeable & very professional without ever feeling like lifeless salespeople. I could sense how determined they were to find exactly what I was looking for. What I ended up with was different than what I initially thought I wanted- & I wouldn't have ventured into other options if Joe & Johnny hadn't been so engaged.
Overall, I really enjoyed my experience with them & I'm thankful that I was able to get a great mattress at a great price!

Save yourself the trouble. Had over 30 phone conversations with staff after making $$$ deposit. The mattress I ordered was on back order and every other mattress selection had some discrepancy on why is wasn't available after selecting from the options given. I am aware this is due to the manufacturer and they were trying their best to provide good service but the service could of been more professional and efficient. Leaving messages without call back, was annoying. They were nice in exchanging the twin bed purchased for a larger one. I was told I would get a slip cover for the pillow I purchased and that offer didn't quite happen. I tried to give local business a chance but I wouldn't recommend Mattress King to friends and family.
This place rocks!!! I came in with specific needs for a mattress, even after having scoured the other nearby stores (3 other mattress stores within the same block!!!) for deals, Johnny came in with an excellent product at an amazing price! He also made it fun and simple, thanks Johnny!!!
Joe at the mattress king is so helpful. He was so knowledgeable about the mattresses so it really helped me decide what to buy. I could tell he was very honest and wasn't trying to just sell me something. He knew a lot about what was supportive to my back and my scoliosis.

I'm so sorry to have to do this. The owner is super nice but my experience was far less than ideal this time.
The first problem was when I was quoted one price and charged another. Then I noticed that the invoice was the most generic invoice I had ever seen. Paying over $400 for a mattress and they didn't even note which brand of mattress I had paid for.
2nd problem is that I called and asked to speak to the manager or salesperson to address the overcharge. Call was never returned.
3rd was when I called to get the dimensions to see whether it would fit in my car and I was given the wrong dimensions.
4th: I had a bad feeling about everything and wanted to cancel my order. That's what I really wanted to do. The owner called me and talked to me for over an hour and convinced me to give them another shot. I should have gone with my gut feeling but decided to trust that I was going to be happy with the purchase in the end. Huge mistake.
5th: After all of this, this memory foam mattress had the worst chemical smell for nearly 1 month so I didn't feel safe breathing it. I literally threw it away in the middle of the night. I didn't even feel right selling it or giving it away because if I felt that it could be unhealthy for me, why would I pass it on to someone else?! So annoyed!
To anyone reading this, avoid this "GelLux" memory foam mattress... they say it's from Easy Rest. I just can't imagine that it would be the safest thing. It's best in the garbage.

I absolutely would recommend this place for anyone looking to buy a top quality mattress for a good price . Johnny is fabulous and is very welcoming . He showed me different types of mattresses and they have really good stuff . My experience was wonderful today. Hassle free and top notch with mattress delivery at home. 5-star definitely . If you are new to the mattress world , this is the place to go!

This is the second time we have bought a mattress from MK. Yet again we were not disappointed. In this age of online shopping, some customer service and expertise is so necessary especially when it comes to buying a mattress! Johnny and Jonathon were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We ended up purchasing mattresses for our kids as well.
I cannot recommend them enough, we have sent everyone we know there and they are always thrilled. This time we invested in a "serious" mattress, so we probably won't be going back there anytime soon, but we will be sleeping like kings that's for sure.

I've bought 3 mattresses from Mattress King over the last few years. The most recent being a few months ago. I will go back when I need another one. They are very friendly, knowledgeable, and fair in pricing. Their mattresses are top quality. I'm very happy with my purchases.
I love my new bed I got today ! I have a gel infused mattress ! I also bought 2 gel cool pillows ! I love mattress king an everyone should go there ! There's also a mattress king on lee street an there both nice ! I bought mine on lee street an had to drive to the one on Sheridan to pick it up ! I didn't like that part !
My husband and I actually went to the Mattress King on Lee Blvd. We bought our first bed in 2016 and it was a queen. A sweet lady named Terry helped us. She was not pushy at all and made us feel at home. Our family was expanding and we bought another bed this year and upgraded to a fancy king bed. Terry was there and she helped us again. She was not pushy and she even recognized my husband and I after a year. Both times we bought a mattress, we had it delivered within 2 hours. The delivery was free and both guys set the bed up. We highly recommend mattress king!

Got a great deal on a tempurpedic mattress here. The staff was extremely helpful and spent a great deal of time helping us choose a bed. They explained all the different features and benefits of all the beds. My husband and I are extremely satisfied with our purchase and it was the best decision we ever made!
Love the prices for all their selections! My husband and I were desperate for a new bigger bed that was comfortable but wouldn't break the bank. Our experience with Mattress King was stellar from start to finish. We had an issue with the original mattress we purchased which turned out to be a known issue and Cory REPLACED the mattress immediately. We did have to provide a photo showing the issue which is understandable, but truly the interaction was seamless. We are so thrilled with our engagement with Mattress City that we will never buy a mattress for our rental or retirement homes in South Lake Tahoe from anywhere else.

We were pleasantly surprised by the information that Walker gave us when we came in to get a new mattress. We were just looking for a mattress and I ended up buying a new mattress, bed frame and a dresser. All of that costs me about $200 less than I was going pay just for a new mattress at a different store.
The delivery guys showed up early and were very professional bringing in everything and setting it up. The best part was when they took my old bed and disposed of it at no additional cost!!! Walked in unsure because you never know, and to be honest the outside although not dirty or in a bad area, it still left a lot to be desired. We were pleasantly surprised. Walked in and we're almost immediately greeted by Cory. We told him our budget and he was stellar. Showed us several options in our price range, and because we are on the California side of South Lake we got FREE delivery (you have to spend at least $499..for the free delivery) and no sales tax. All in all we were in and out with a new bed in 20 minutes! And with a 2 year old running around, it was nice to be quick. Also..Cory was great with baby, didn't mind her or act annoyed at all when she ran up and down trying to pull out all the tags :/

These guys are awesome. Just bought our first mattress in Tahoe from them. Walker was very knowledgable and very relaxed; he didn't push us at all and let us take our time, even though we rushed into the store and picked out our mattress in an hour while they held the truck to make same day delivery. They actually followed us home from the store. I know that's probably rare, but it was incredibly helpful. Plus, they don't have to charge sales tax and most deliveries are free (over a certain $...can't remember how much) because this is their only store.
We'll definitely be going back.
Just purchased two sets from Mattress King on a Friday. Lonnie and Cory were extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. Delivery was the next day. Delivery Guys were awesome dealing with out multi level home in Tahoe, very respectful of our home. They had to move a queen set down two levels which included having to go outside since the stairway inside was too hard to navigate. Then bring in the new queen set up a flight and a full set. Did I mention it's a flight down from where they had to park too and they had to cart all the old stuff out?? I highly recommend Mattress King. Everyone I had contact with was great!!
I went to Mattress King because they had been recommended by some family friends. When I went into the store, I informed a gentleman (sorry, I can't remember his name - it wasn't Cory...) that I was in search for a bed that would be a good fit for me - I am a larger person and have a degenerating disc in my back. He showed me a bed that his wife (who has similar back problems) has, and warned me of the price first. He also showed me less expensive beds. I left without making a purchase that day, and came back over a week later to purchase.
EDIT: My only complaint (regarding an employee) was immediately addressed and resolved when Cory became aware of it.
You can go anywhere to purchase a bed. But by going to Mattress King, you not only receive quality products at competitive pricing, you also receive quality customer service. I wouldn't recommend shopping anywhere else.
This place was great!!! We didn't buy our mattress from them but they were extremely helpful and nice! They didn't give us snarky comments because our budget was under $500 and we openly told them we were looking at other stores. They genuinely wanted to make sure we purchasing a mattress we loved! I would recommend his place to anyone looking for a mattress.
Stay away from the Fairview brand. Horrible mattress! Paid $900 and it sunk within 2 months. Worthless foam
Horrible customer service!! These guys took 2 weeks to get us our mattress. They wouldn't work with us on the delivery time even though I explained we had to attend a funeral service at the same time said we could wait another week; therefore, we were not there to realize that we ordered the wrong size King. Although we called immediately upon figuring it out, never slept on it and it was still in the plastic they wanted to charge $370 to exchange it for the right size. Apparently in the "small print". That is outrageous since we had saved and saved to even purchase the mattress. Now, we need to figure out something to do with or brand new mattress that doesn't fit. I can guarantee that how ever we decide to solve this problem it will not involve Mattress King. Let me also mention that the sales clerk that was helping us had very colorful language while I was, with my children, spending thousands of dollars. SMH!!!
Just purchased our first mattress together and had a perfect experience! We had gone to other mattress stores and were not given the attention we received here. It was a great experience. Other places did not even approach us on what we may like, just told us what mattresses fit our price range. Due to it being our first mattress purchase we were not too sure on what we wanted so Corey walked us through different types of mattresses and what we may like. After trying out a couple we found the perfect mattress at a great price! We set up a delivery date and can't wait to get our new mattress! Went in to buy a bed for my daughter for her new house. As soon as we walked in we were met by Holley Kushniryk (Store Manager). We cut to the quick with her and told her our requirements and she gave us what we wanted without the up sale speech and or pressure sales tactics. Delivery was as equally efficient a few days later. Purchased a mattress with the understanding that within 90 days we could return. Declined the additional $100 dollar mattress cover and the additional five year warranty Did not understand this voids 90 return policy!! Oh read the fine print on the receipt. Tricky sales. Last time purchase from location and another mattress store will get additional business.
My husband and I stumbled into this store to look around and noticed they were having a sale. We ended up buying a nice mattress and had it set to be delivered. Delivery day shows up and the warehouse people loaded the wrong bed. The sales woman was great and so were the delivery guys but I'm quite disappointed that I haven't received the bed we paid for. If they step up and deliver it quickly I may give 5 stars, but at the moment I'm contemplating if they deserve 3.
I bought 2 mattresses tempur pedic from them and the policy i could exchange the mattresses if is the same no extra pay but if different one i will pay the difference , after 45 days trying to exchange the soft with the hard one they want a $3000 difference ,my mistake i didn't let them put that in writing, very bad thiefs don't buy nothing from them.
Bought King size adjustable bed for over 4,000 not a year and it breaking down on one side loop side, figured paying that much money it should last well it's not worth the money I even had to wait 3wks for delivery, now my back is out of place again can't sleep and it not worth it.
They do not honor their warranty. We bought their top of the line mattress. About 9 months went in to tell them of the mattress failure. They said they would have someone come out to look at it. 4 moths went by Noone showed so went back in. Same story now it is almost 2 years and still can't get them to honor their warranty. Don't buy from them.
