Layla offers a copper-gel infused memory foam topper, which is soft and can be added to existing mattresses for a cooling soft contour. Overall, customers have good things to say about Layla's topper and describe it as providing a good amount of softness to firm mattresses. The few that complained mentioned wanting straps to keep the topper secure.
In terms of material quality, Layla offers a unique piece of cooling and contouring technology with its copper-gel infused memory foam. Gel beads help diffuse heat away from the body while the memory foam contours around hips and shoulders. This would be ideal for slimmer or average sized sleepers -- larger sleepers could feel it is too soft.
Here is what's inside:
Cover Layer: The cover is a polyester blend that has added cooling technology stitched in. It also whicks away moisture so it stays cool and dry throughout the night.
Layer 2: The next layer is 2'' of copper-gel infused memory foam that contours around the body, relieving pressure points while the copper-gel pulls heat away from the body. Customers describe it as quite soft and works best with a firmer surface.
The Layla topper is quite soft, providing a conforming feel around the hips and shoulders. This makes it ideal for average sized or smaller side sleepers who are sleeping on a firm mattress today. Those that are back or stomach sleepers may find that it is too soft for them.
Due to the softness of this mattress topper, it will lead to pressure point relief for those that add it to a firmer mattress. Those that intend to use it on a sagging or soft mattress may find the surface too soft, causing issues with spinal alignment.
With the coppet-gel infusion and the cooling cover, this mattress will sleep cool for nearly all sleepers.
Layla's mattress topper is perfect for those that want the benefits of cooling and contour and need a topper that will soften up a firm mattress.
Bought this for my parents for Christmas and they say they don’t know how they slept before it! I own a Layla mattress and we are quickly becoming a Layla family
A good product which has turned our very firm Tempurpedic mattress into something akin to what you experience on a good cruise ship. A note to the Layla company: be sure you send out a pleasant smelling article from the warehouse - ours was a little musty smelling which has since dissipated. Stewart
I originally purchased the Layla mattress and fell in love with it. After I heard a topper was coming out to make the mattress even softer I was excited. My wife and I love a plush mattress feel as we tend to sleep on our sides. The materials provide the adequate support we need, while eliminating the pressure points we had with our old mattresses.
Haven’t used it yet. Redoing bedroom
I had topper on new mattress..too soft..moved it to another bed..my son loved it
Not much difference in this compared to the others I’ve had.
I ordered the topper for my post- spine surgery recovery in my lift recliner. It has proven to be just what I needed and very comfortable.
We love the Layla~ Mattress and Topper are The Absolute Best!! I have bad hips, and every night I toss and turn to find a position that relieves the ache in my hips~ Well, no more!! My hips have not ached during the night or in the mornings since sleeping on the Layla!! Love it!!
Excellent product - sleep so much better! Not as bulky as other toppers I tried.
Never had a topper before for a mattress but this is a good one. Very nice fabric and nice quality. Somehow Layla thinks I bought a King Topper but in fact I bought a Full/Double. Works great on top of the Full/Double Layla mattress.
I used this topper to help out another brand of bed that just went through that initial break in period. For side sleeping, this topper did the trick to keep my shoulder and hip off of the firmer support layer of the mattress. The amazing thing is that with all the plushness of my bed now it is actually cooler because of the Layla copper design. This is impressive considering my body is further enveloped by the sleeping surface. The fact that the Layla keeps me cooler despite this is impressive. Awesome!
Like another reviewer, the soft side of the Layla was good but could be a bit softer. Adding the topper made it just right.
The topper won't stay in the same spot. I'm constantly adjusting it on the mattress.
Besides that this review states I bought a queen size when i bought a king, everything has been wonderful
The topper is a little to soft
The best bed yet! we sleep on a king with plush side and love it so much thanks Layla!!!
Sadly we had to give it 4 stars due to the weight displacement Bunch Factor. My husband weighs almost 80 pounds more than me and with a Topper so soon there is a bunching clenching moving issue perhaps at some strips or Velcro. I can say that it was great sleeping on it just on the floor as it is one is tougher on the floor was not so bad it's terrible on top of the mattress.
Great investment! Six hours of sleep feels like eight hours. I can't wait to get in bed after a long day. Thanks Layla!!!!!
Love our new Layla topper!
The topper works great for us. It added just the right amount of softness to our Layla mattress. Would recommend as an addition to any mattress.
Comfortable, but I have to keep readjusting the topper. It tends to slide off the bottom edge of the bed. Got to keep pulling it up towards the head of the bed.
I reviewed the mattress as a 3 and stand behind that. I'm a side sleeper that tried the soft side and had serious lower back pain. Flipped it to the firm and was much better but still felt eh about it. I then switched back to the soft again thinking I may need to change my pillow habit and only sleep on one (sorry Layla it isn't yours since yours has my head too high but my daughter loves it). THEN I finally see that the topper was available and bought it. I have only had it two days but no stiffness and no lower back pain when I get up. I will also try the topper on the firm side before settling into the final combo. This topper is so comfy and boosts the overall experience to a 4. Is it worth the 1,100 for the queen? If I can sleep better maybe. Something to think about when comparing. The price point is now higher and the experience so far 4 stars.
We tried this topper on our Nectar mattress. For reference, my partner and I are both fairly tall and slim and sleep on our sides, backs and stomachs (flip floppers!). At first the topper felt really nice, but we soon felt hard pressure points from bottoming out. The under layer of the cover is a very stiff fabric so we zipped it off and just had the very soft top portion of the cover covering the topper. This helped for sure, but there's still just a bit too much bottoming out which is hard on the hips when sleeping on my side. It feels better laying on my back and stomach. I did find it less hot than most of the memory foam we've tried. But because of it being a bit too soft and at nearly $400 with tax for a king, we ended up returning (donating to charity). Just a tad bit more firmness would've made this perfect.
