It is so rare these days to have a truly spectacular customer service experience
It is so rare these days to have a truly spectacular customer service experience, but that is exactly what happened for us with Jamestown Mattress. My husband and I had been searching forever to find the perfect mattress and were having a difficult time finding anything that worked for us. We stayed over at my in-laws house and, to our surprise, had the best sleep of our lives! We looked far and wide for the mattress that his parents owned, but it had been discontinued years ago. We called up the manufacturer, Jamestown Mattress, and were amazed to find out that they would custom make a mattress to the specifications of their discontinued mattress! And even though we live in Austin, TX they arranged to have it shipped to our door. We both would have expected such service to have cost a fortune, but we were amazed to find out that this mattress was THOUSANDS of dollars less than the Tempurpedic mattress we tried and hated. Overall, a rare and wonderful customer service experience. We are extremely pleased.
BEWARE
BEWARE I purchased a mattress ($1800.00) last November '18. It is already in need of repair. The mattress was only 7/8 months old. I first emailed them in July with pictures they requested. I have telephoned the Jamestown factory 4 times, speaking once with Aaron, brother to Jim, the manager/owner. Each time I'm told Jim would get back to me. I have yet to receive any response from them. Be careful with these guys.
Four years later and we still l-o-v-e our mattress
Four years later and we still l-o-v-e our mattress! Need to purchase a new mattress for our guest bed and will be going to Jamestown, again. Not even looking around town for sales...who does that?! ;)
I found shopping for a mattress very confusing
I found shopping for a mattress very confusing. Every store you go to has a different selection. The national brand names seem to mean nothing because the models change from store to store. As a result I took to the Internet and found a site call mattressunderground.com which gives very good information on what to look for and also has a nice blog where people share their buying experiences. This brought me to Jamestown Mattress Company. These guys are a family owned manufacturer of mattresses. The buyers on mattressunderground.com highly recommended them and I went to their Henrietta location. Jason, the manager, was highly knowledgeable and very helpful. He explained the various materials used, reasons why to chose one or the other mattress, as well as pros and cons to some models. In the end I purchased their Dynasty Plush mattress for, what I consider, a fair price. The mattress was delivered on time a week later. The sleeping experience is - just WOW. The mattress is everything I was looking for and more. I am so much more rested than before. Quality of product: Outstanding Service in store: Outstanding Free Delivery: Oustanding As we replace the other mattresses in our home I will go back to Jamestown Mattress.
I will NEVER buy anything from Jamestown Mattress
I will NEVER buy anything from Jamestown Mattress , it has been awhile since my purchase of a top of the line bed for my husband who was in a bad accident , the saleswoman ( a relative of owners) with blond hair treated me like I was the scum of the earth instead of someone buying the most expensive mattress that helps her family business, she even forgot to order my mattress and when I called because the day Of delivery it did not come , she said whoops I dropped the ball on this one, then I called jamestown mattress and the owners didn't seem to care that there precious family member dropped the ball , because she is a stuck up snob I refuse to buy any jamestown mattress from any retail store and the same with my large family, and a lot of my friends do not after hearing how I was treated, this company has zero morals and as for the snob with nasty short blond hair you need to get your head out of your @&$! And I also canceled my expensive mattress and went with a different company ! I don't help out a jamestown business that doesn't support its community shoppers!
Seriously, best bed shopping experience of my life
Seriously, best bed shopping experience of my life! Picking out a great king size bed was super easy and fast. I absolutely love it and it's exactly how it was described and ordered. This is the highest quality bed I've ever had in terms of precision. Every thread is in place every everything is perfect the attention to detail and comfort are amazing. After falling in love with my king I got a twin for my office /guest room daybed.
Poor service and fake warranty
PSA: Summary; Don't expect clear communication nor good warranty service from Jamestown Mattress. If you do purchase a mattress from Jamestown Mattress, don't do it for the warranty or because they care, because they do not. If your are inclined, the details of our experience follow. On October 8th, 2012 we purchased a king size mattress called a Heavenly Cloud – Euro Top from Jamestown Mattress Company / Jamestown Mattress which came with a 10 year warranty and was one of their most expensive mattresses with an endorsement from Bob Lonsberry. The mattress is comprised of a core which is sewn shut and on top of which sits two different layers of foam and then a pillow top which zips onto the mattress. In December 2018 we contacted Jamestown Mattress about a sag which developed in our mattress. First, the store manager came out and swapped out the pillow top with a new one. The new pillow top did not address the sag. Then Jamestown Mattress took the mattress back to their factory for about 2 weeks where Jamestown Mattress replaced the two layers of foam just under the zip on pillow top and they purportedly checked the core of the mattress and found no fault. In early 2019 we reached out to Jamestown Mattress again and the store manager came out to inspect the mattress only to tell us there is nothing more he could do. Shortly thereafter as many of you know our family faced significant health challenges and while we continued to use our mattress it became more uncomfortable, but we just did not have the time to address the issue. Fast forward to today and the sag is present on both sides, but far more significant on one side than another. The sag is so bad it feels like you are sleeping on an incline or on a boat that is heeling over. I wrote the president Jim Pullan a letter and ten days followed up with a phone call, neither of which he responded to. I did hear from the store manager and he arranged to have one of the new layers of foam under the pillow top replaced. This made no sense to me as the mattress was sagging asymmetrically on both sides. If the sag had been uniform perhaps this would make sense. The new replacement foam was installed last Friday and now the mattress is so stiff it is not usable and there is no way if there was a sag in the core that anyone could detect it. We have reported back our findings to Jamestown Mattress only to be told the new foam cost $300 and the mattresses is 8 years old and this is a comfort issue and there is no fault!!! Really? Jim Pullan perhaps you and your wife should come sleep in the mattress? I'll add that I also left messages for Jim Pullan's brother Steve Pullan, but he also did not return my calls. It seems these guys like to have their staff do all their dirty work. Steve had the final message to me delivered by a woman named Janette, who by the way told me the foam they replaced comes in four different versions of varying degrees of stiffness. Now why wouldn't they have consulted us before replacing the foam as to what was happening rather than assuming it was a comfort issue? Janette also stated today that Jim Pullan never received my letter? If so, then why out of the blue did the store manager phone me?

Had back pain; NO MORE. Low-pressure sales, wide variety to choose from, and professional delivery crew. I Will review again in one year.
Wearing when new
Make sure you realize that when you buy a pillow top mattress you have to rotate it once a month or it will wear unevenly. I didn't know that until after I purchased it, and I never would have if I knew it because it is too hard to rotate a king size mattress for an older person
Just Don't Do It
NEVER COME HERE. It is NOT THE SAME Jamestown Mattress that you've known from previous reputable years, based on recent events I've experienced. STOP REFERRING people here. I bought my first latex mattress mid September 2023 for $2700. Jason NEVER mentioned it needing special box springs or frame. Not once. He doesn't actually guide you for the best bed for you. Just points out a few based on what you have in mind. Basically checks you in, minimal information, then checks you out. Maybe that has something to do with his private computer he has at the desk? 🧐 NEVER COME HERE. By mid-November, it was SAGGING in the middle, and a complete mattress fail. I'm 200 lbs. That's no more than an average male. Jason ( the ONLY representative in Henrietta) came to my home, looked at, and said bc my box springs and frame were not Sealy, Serta or Simmons - it made the warranty null and void ( mind you I have solid box springs, and 6 LEGS going around it ( vs 4 ), with center support bar across. No specifications were ever mentioned, referring to their warranty. NEVER COME HERE. Jason told me the "COMPANY" would NEVER go for any replacement or exchange at that juncture !! Said "call in March", and he could get me a replacement 3" topper. 3 1/2 months of a sagging bed. I called. He replaced it. And now I have a sagging bed, with a topper so hard, I've been in treacherous pain for weeks. And terrible terrible pain from this for months!!!!!!! NEVER COME HERE. Jason completely denied ever saying anything the box s. /frame needing those brand names in March. Really? 🧐 I have had 3 back surgeries. NEVER COME HERE. The company says there's a "10 year warranty" - but if you have ANY problem, they "hoop and circle jerk you" until you just GO AWAY. That's the gig. If you search out other reviews, there's been other similar reviews regarding this tactic by the company. My family has been loyal to this company for years. They aren't the same company you knew - if this is how they take care of their customers. NEVER COME HERE.
